A Souvenir of the International Socialist Workers and Trade Union Congress, 1896. Along with William Morris, Walter Crane defined the visual identity of the fin de siecle Socialist movement. This piece is of historical as well as artistic interest. The congress has been described as "the most agitated, the most tumultuous, and the most chaotic of all the congresses of the Second International" because of the many factional disputes between and within the national delegations.

Glassine with chips and tears, creasing to cover and in margins of most plates (artwork unaffected), edgewear and foxing; very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
