24 leaves, on rectos only (except for a 9-line ms. addition on the back of the final leaf); numbered in ink 1-23 with an 8a. Photocopy typescript with ink corrections in an unknown hand. 28x21.5 cm (11x8½"), loose.
Draft of an autobiographical article by Judy Garland that was published in Ladies Home Journal in 1967, then serialized in a condensed version in four issues of the Philadelphia Daily News in June of 1969. This is the manuscript of the uncut version, though we have not been able to confirm how it compares exactly to the published piece. There is an ink notation at the top right corner of the first leaf, "J.G. Copy", and there are fairly extensive ink corrections, additions, and emendations throughout. They are in block letters, not cursive, so comparison to Judy Garland's handwriting is inconclusive. The article itself is quite revealing about Garland's life and thoughts, written two years before her death at age 49 in 1969, with much about her relationships with other actresses and actors.
