401, [7]  pp. + errata leaf. With engraved title frontispiece, the opposite leaf bears "The explication of the frontispiece." No addition printed title page is present. (8vo) 18.5x14 cm (7¼x5½), period morocco rebacked with modern suede, spine stamped in gilt, marbled endpapers, speckled edges.. 

Scarce work by Thomas Bailey or Bayly (died c. 1657) , a seventeenth-century English religious controversialist, a Royalist Church of England clergyman who converted to Roman Catholicism.

Condition:
Good amount of rubbing and some wormhole damage to leather, corners worn; scattered dampstaining (affecting frontispiece), mostly near the gutter at the first portion of the volume, a few wormholes not affecting text; very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
