Unpaginated, approximately 400 pp. Engraved title page, a few woodcut initials. Printed in double columns. (4to) 23x17 cm (9x6½"), period paneled tree calf, gilt-decorated spine, all edges gilt.

Inscription on fist blank page surrounded by decoratively inked borders: "Mary Kemeys her book given her by the last will of her own mother who deceased April 3 Ann: 1699." "This edition is sometimes known as the 'Preaching Bible,' being well adapted for pulpit use: it is printed in small type, with a very full page" - Herbert.

Lot Amendments

Wear to boards with some loss to gilt, leather of inner panels mostly lacking, spine gilt largely rubbed away, rubbing to extremities; hinges cracked, a few gatherings loose but holding, a few closed tears; good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
