xx, 723 pp. With 36 maps by Emery Walker, Ltd. (four folding, some color). 20.5x13.5 cm (8x5¼"), period three-quarter morocco with red cloth-covered boards bound by George Bayntun, tooled and lettered in gilt on spine, top edge gilt. 

George Macaulay Trevelyan was a British historian and academic. Many of his writings promoted the Whig Party, an important aspect of British politics from the 17th century to the mid-19th century, and its successor, the Liberal Party. Whigs and Liberals believed the common people had a more positive effect on history than did royalty and that democratic government would bring about steady social progress.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
