[8], 402, [4], 486, 111 pp. Engraved frontispiece portrait of D'Avenant by William Faithorn after John Greenhill. (Folio) 32x19 cm (12½x7½"), mottled calf rebacked with original spine panel laid down, raised bands, mottled edges. First collected edition.

Sir William Davenant was an English poet and playwright. Along with Thomas Killigrew, Davenant was one of the rare figures in English Renaissance theatre whose career spanned both the Caroline and Restoration eras and who was active both before and after the English Civil War and during the Interregnum.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
