190, 127,121, [10] leaves + book of Psalmes: [10], 93, [9] pp. With illustrated title page for the New Testament, woodcuts in text, woodcut initials, head and tail pieces. (4to) 22x16 cm (8½x6") period boards backed with later calf, new endpapers.

Title page of the New Testament bears the date of 1599. The title page for the Old Testament is not present, and there are leaves lacking at the end of the Book of Psalmes (Prayers).  With the modern armorial bookplate of Peter Ward.

Lot Amendments

Good amount of wear to original boards; margins of first leaf of text partially lacking, repaired with archival paper, obscuring some text on the verso, occasional closed tears and chips to page edges and corners, a few leaves with bottom portions torn away with some loss to text, varying degrees of foxing and toning throughout; heavier soiling towards the rear of volume; overall fair or better.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
