$1,000 - $1,500

Significant letter from Lenny Bruce to attorney Melvin Belli regarding both personal and legal matters

Bruce, Lenny

Los Angeles

December 4, 1962

One page, retained typed carbon, unsigned, on Bruce's South Doheny Drive letterhead.

Bruce begins with reference to a Melvin Belli sexual encounter, "Please don’t fuck me around. Did that chick, the seventeen year old goddess that you asked for seconds on (so I don’t assume she gave you a dose) - She said that you said ‘Lenny doesn’t have to worry’… But you telling her that is like I would tell some chick before I come… ’Yeah, I’ll take you to Vegas with Me.’  I never played the pimp before so I have that coming but don’t do me dirty…”  He later states that "I'm going to use a competent attorney but he hasn't got the strength that you have. Move the dates for the assault and the narcotics trial to somewhere between the 17th and 27th of December!..."

Lot Amendments
