1037 pp. (8vo), original grey cloth with blue lettering, illustrated dust jacket. First Edition, First Printing, in first issue dust jacket. In custom cloth slipcase. Signed.

Signed by Mitchell on the front free endpaper. Classic novel of the American Civil War and Reconstruction era in the deep South. First printing with "Published May 1936" on copyright page. In the first issue jacket with rear panel headed "Macmillan Spring Novels" listing GWTW as the second title in the second column. Top front jacket flap corner clipped, but the publisher's printed "$3.00" price still present on the lower flap portion.

Lot Amendments
Dust jacket trimmed a bit at bottom edge.

Some wear to slipcase; light wear and dampstaining to jacket, which has been backed with paper and trimmed a bit at bottom edge; mild toning and offsetting to pages, erroneous note tipped in to endpapers stating incorrect publication date; overall very good.
