8 in 9. With five engraved plates (1 folding), and seven maps (5 folding). Lacking Libro Actuum Apostolorum affigatur, opposite p. 608 , Volume VII. (Folio) 37.6x23 cm (14¾x9"), later half vellum with marbled boards lettered on morocco spine labels in gilt, edges stained red. Third Edition.

Antoine Augustin Calmet was a French Benedictine monk, and one of the most distinguished members of the Congregation of St. Vanne.  He was greatly admired by the philosopher Voltaire, who visited the abbey on several occasions. This commentary on the old and new testaments was one of his major works. Institutional marks on title pages, edges, and rear pastedowns.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
