Rare original photographs of German Stuka pilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated German serviceman of World War II, credited with the destruction of 519 tanks, among other vehicles and craft. Includes him receiving a live pig while standing in front of an airplane, and one of him wearing his “1500” oak leaves decoration around his neck. The photos of Anton Riss, Luftwaffe assault pilot/gunner who served directly under Rudel, are of him as a young boy, and at 23 in uniform with goggles. Riss was to die in combat in 1944, still aged 23; Rudel passed away in 1982, aged 66, having been a prominent neo-Nazi activist in Latin America and West Germany following the war. The photographs were acquired in Germany in the mid-1950's by an American intelligence officer, and have remained in the family since them.
