"Professor Davidson had originally believed that Sir Francis Drake entered San Francisco Bay. In this article he revealed a change in belief, and maintained that 'the great circumnavigator anchored in Drake's Bay; ...there remains not the shadow of a doubt in my mind as to the exact locality'..." - Evans, First One Hundred Years... California Historical Society, p. 172. This was the fifth publication of the California Historical Society. Cowan, p. 157; Rocq 4965. Affixed to the title page at gutter is Secretary's Report of the Society for 1890-1. 

Lot Amendments
Darkening and a bit of light foxing and soiling to wrappers, some wear to spine with old paper number label, '59', fore- and gutter-edge of rear wrapper chipped; very good overall.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
