No place

Photo album with approx. 345 b&w photos, many captioned, along with approx. 35 post cards and one plant specimen. 27.5x37.5 cm. (11x15") leather album with side ties and color pictorial label.

Photo album depicting the cruise ship "Empress of Canada," and its travels through:
California - Hawaii - Japan - Shanghai, Nanking, Kowloon - Hong Kong - Manila - Sydney, Australia - Ceylon (Sri Lanka) - Egypt.

Includes images of the Empress of Canada in drydock, Japanese naval forces, various sites in China damaged by Japanese bombing, damages from the 1937 Hong Kong Typhoon, the "Hawaii Clipper" seaplane's maiden voyage (the plane disappeared in 1938) as well as images of Noel Coward, and Natividad and Victorina Matos (identical twins married to Luco and Simplicio Godina, themselves conjoined twins who died in 1936, returning from their husbands' funeral.) All in all, a very eventful album.

Lot Amendments

Severe wear to outside of album, including rubbing, loss, and staining; many images missing, some age toning to images; overall very good.
