Alexander Monro was a Scottish anatomist, physician and medical educator. To distinguish him as the second of three generations of physicians of the same name, he is known as secundus. His students included the naval physician and abolitionist Thomas Trotter.

Light rubbing at spine ends, edges and corners worn, some staining and soil, edges darkened; front hinge cracked, hints of foxing, some offsetting from plates; very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
