Seven leaves of lithographed facsimiles. (4to) original printed wrappers bound in contemporary black quarter morocco, decorated cloth boards, gilt lettering, t.e.g., others untrimmed. First Edition.

One of several contemporary exposés into the 19th century French forger, Vrain-Denis Lucas (1818-1880), a.k.a “the prince of forgers.” Inscribed in the upper margin of the front wrapper "A Monseiur  . . . S. Turner / Hommage des editeurs / H. Bordier." Bookplate of Syracuse, NY, book collector Charles Walker Andrews on the front paste-down, with his notation in pencil that this was purchased from James Tregaskis in London in December 1935.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
