Volume 1, No. 8, dated "Noviembre 2 de 1919." Printed broadside with metalcut engraved illustration by Posada of a spider with a calavera face that resembles Victoriano Huerta. 59.5x38.3 cm (23½x15").

Rare periodical in the form of a broadside, featuring the so-called “Calavera Tarantula”, one of Posada´s last works, which became nationally famous in Mexico. Into it he poured all his hatred of Victoriano Huerta, the tyrant who killed Francisco I. Madero, whom he portrayed as a repugnant tarantula with the tail of a scorpion, insatiably devouring other skulls. The text includes short vignettes of famous local people in Mexico City, published close to All Saints Day. OCLC lists only four examples, at the University of Notre Dame; the Museum of Fine Arts Houston Hirsch Library; the University of Texas at San Antonio; and the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut.
