The best known poem by Crowe (1745-1829) a reflection on nature, which was admired by many of his contemporaries, among them Coleridge and Wordsworth. The first edition of Lewesdon Hill was published anonymously after which a second edition was demanded and printed in that same year. Crowe was a minister and public orator at Oxford.
