Title:
Early original pen and ink drawing by Charles Bukowski

Author:
Bukowski, Charles

Place:
[Los Angeles]

Publisher:

Date:
1963

Description:

Early abstract pen and ink drawing by Bukowski. Drawing: 20.5x12.5 cm (8x5") on a larger sheet, double matted: 48x38 cm (19x15").

Signed by Bukowski beneath the drawing, and dated "12-31-63." A striking early abstract pen and ink drawing in red and black by Bukowski, reminiscent of flames burning inside a wire cage. This is the original drawing that John Martin used to make a smaller serigraph print that was bound into Deluxe copies of Living on Luck. This drawing, done only three years after Bukowski's first book, is from the period in which he began to seriously explore visual art as a means of self-expression. Bukowski works of this vintage have ceased to appear on the market.
