Rare glimpse of the high society of San Francisco, a necessary endeavour, for "As the great social structure of this country is upheld by America's best families, it is fitting that future generations should have a record of events that transpired during the lifetime of those who helped make social history..." - from the preface. The compact volume describes is some detail the social events for the period October 1901 through November 1902, and includes the menus of some events. The notable events chronicled include the marriage of Miss Caro Crockett to Lawrence I. Scott; a dinner given by William H. Crocker for J. P:ierpont Morgan; Miss Edith Huntington's hosting of a theater party for Miss Pearl Landers; a tea party hosted by Mrs. Horace D. Pillsbury; The Christmas jinks of the Bohemian Club; a dinner hosted by James D. Phelan in the Red Room at the Bohemian Club; and many more. OCLC locates only two copies, and for this season only: at the California Historical Society, and Saint Patrick's Seminary  & University in Menlo Park, California.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
