VG- (3.5). Spine roll; a few tiny nicks, one small creased tear to front cover (less than 1/4"). Cover bright, relatively lustrous. Staples a bit pulled. Page edges tan but supple. If professionally pressed might achieve 4.0 or higher. Stan Lee, Hank Chapman stories. Russ Heath cover. Art by Bill Everett, Paul Reinman, Al Bellman. 13th horror ish of this title.
Krigstein story? Overstreet and others attribute "In the Dead of Night" to Bernie Krigstein (both pencils and inks), but the story is unsigned and bears none of his artistic hallmarks. The compositions are bland, the drawings are lifeless, there's no formal experimentation, and even a panel with graveyard rats eating a guy alive somehow falls flat. Overstreet error?
