One volume of a 43 volume set, but quite important in itself. This 26th volume contains, on pages 157-169, what is according to Bancroft the first account of the Nootka incident to reach Europe. This volume also comprises "one of the most complete accounts [of California] from this period, with good descriptions of Alta California, the Gulf of California, and the Indians and missions of Alta and Baja California" - Hill 572.
