Through an enactment of the 1933 session of the South Dakota legislature, the Rural Credit Board, as the agency handling over a million and a half acres of land for the state, was empowered to sell same." A significant piece of ephemeral Americana, and the United States coped with the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.
