With introductory essays by Walter L. Hervey, Alon Bement, Karl Davis Robinson, and Margaret Watkins. Contains 82 full-page collotypes selected from photographs submitted by members of the organization, including examples by Imogen Cunningham, Anne Brigman, Arnold Genthe, Doris Ulmann, Paul Outerbridge, Jr., Karl Strauss, and Anton Bruehl. cloth-backed paper-covered boards. One of 1,500 copies of the "regular" edition.

The volume is dedicated to Clarence H. White, who died in 1925. Among the tributes paid to White: "I think that if I were asked to name the most subtle and refined master photography has produced, that I would name him...To be a true artist in photography one must also be an artist in life, and Clarence H. White was such an artist." Alvin Langdon Coburn: "What he brought to photography was an extraordinary sense of light."  Beaumont Newhall; "Clarence White's poetic vision and sensitive intuition produced images that insinuate themselves deeply into one's consciousness." - Edward Steichen.

Rubbing with light fraying at spine ends, some rubbing at edges and corners, a few scuffs and stains; front hinge cracked, leaves somewhat toned; very good.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
