Unpaginated. 26 color lithograph plates on both sides of 13 leaves. Descriptive text interleaved with advertisements. (8vo) 23x15 cm (9x6") original color pictorial wrappers. First Edition.

A very attractive promotional brochure. Includes views of San Francisco, Yosemite, Monterey and many advertisements for California businesses. The present copy has two additional lithographs not found in most copies, being an advertisement for Crocker & Co., featuring their headquarters on Bush Street in San Francisco, and on the verso of the leaf, an advertisement for Taber's Photographic Parlor, featuring the interior of that establishment. The other lithographs are: Hartford Fire Insurance Co.; Baldwin Hotel, S.F.; Hotel Del Monte Monterey; Bird's eye view of Santa Cruz and vicinity from the line of the South Pacific Coast R.R.; Returning from the geysers; Congress Springs hotel near Saratoga; San Francisco in 1849; San Francisco in 1883; Big Tree “Garfield”; Cliff House & Seal rocks; Mammoth Hotel Calaveras Grove; Big Tree “Wawona”; Grizzly Giant; Yosemite Falls; Vernal Falls; General view of the valley; Valley from Glacier Point; Bridal veil Falls; Yosemite Stage; Lake Tahoe; Donner Lake; Bridge at Big Tree station; Geyser Springs; Profile of Vernal Falls. Lot Amendments

Condition:
Light wear to corners and spine ends, lower 1½" of spine strip lacking; occasional brown spots to contents and also to front wrapper (the latter unobtrusive among the trees); blue check marks to one plate and a few text leaves; very good.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
