First edition of Stein's magnum opus, the full scholarly report of the 1906-08 expedition. Yakushi S332, noting "Serindia is the regional name adopted for that much of Asia which lies between the Pamirs and Pacific watershed, and it includes most of the scenes of Stein's unwearied researches during his three journeys extending over intermittent periods between 1900 and 1915. It is the results of these three journeys undertaken in geographical, archaeological, historical interests which are given in due scientific form."

Jackets with some foxing and edgewear, spines sunned with light stains, a few short tears, jacket on Vol. III with neat repair at lower edge of front panel; just a bit of shelf wear to covers, seams of map box starting to split in a few places; offset to endpapers; very good or better condition.
