John Bell, a Scottish doctor, traveled throughout Russia, China, Siberia, and to Constantinople. First published in Glasgow in 1763. The two maps, well engraved and printed on thick paper, are: "A Map of Mr. Bell's Journeys from Petersburg to Ispahan and from Petersburg to Constantinople" (39.8x30.5 cm) and "A Map of Mr. Bell's Journey from Moscow to Pekin" (65.5x25.5 cm). (Both have small stub tears and some marginal foxing, the latter has an additional small horizontal tear and vertical tear along middle fold, no loss)
