viii, 339 pp. Folding map; 8 inserted woodcut plates; smaller illustrations in text. (8vo), original green cloth decorated in gilt and black. First Edition.

The author was a newspaper journalist aboard the Pandora, and describes the voyage under the command of Captain Allen Young during 1875 and 1876 in search of a Northwest Passage. Scarce, no copies appear in the auction records for at least 35 years.

Condition:

Light wear to cloth, rear hinge cracked, binding shaken; some foxing; about very good.
