Revealing little archive detailing some of the barriers to Chinese immigration. Low See Tong, whose father was a native-born U.S. citizen but was himself born in China, was attempting to land at Angel Island, but was denied, "the claimed relationship not having been satisfactorily established" under Rule 5 of the regulations governing the admission of Chinese, approved October 1, 1926." Includes letters from various lawyers and immigration officers. The appeal was upheld, and the applicant was admitted into the United States.
