Order to pay John, an Indian Runner, for his services from August 12 to September 26, 1814. Ordered by J.C. Warren and signed by Philip Pipkin as Commander of the 1st Regiment of the Tennessee Volunteers. Authorization to pay at Nashville signed by Quartermaster Jacob Thompson. Scarce document of Native American service to the United States. The term of service follows closely on the Treaty of Fort Jackson between the United States and the Creek Nation.
