A later printing of the well-known Chalmers edition of perhaps the most famous British periodical publication. Conducted by Richard Steele and Thomas Addison and published daily between March 1, 1711 and December 6, 1712 (and then again in 1714 by Addison for 80 further numbers), "The Spectator" contained comment chiefly on literature, manners, and morals.
