[16], 256 pp. With 2 copper-engraved portraits, including the frontispiece. 17.9x11.5 cm. (7x4½"), period sheep.

Authorship of the oft-printed Eikōn basilikē was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king. Madan, F.F. New bibl. of the Eikon basilike, 66; Wing E311A. Early ownership inscription on front flyleaf.

Condition:

Covers scuffed and worn, spine head torn; internally very good.
