Roman type. Historiated wood-engraved title-page to New Testament, with text within heart-shaped border (engraved title to Old Testament not present). 22x15 cm. (8¾x6"), period calf, metal protectors.

First quarto edition of the King James Bible, 1612, following on the great Bible of 1611, published 400 years ago. This has the "hee" reading in Ruth iii, 15. There are 45 preliminary leaves not part of the Bible proper, including Psalms and Genealogies, with some leaves torn or lacking; also, following the New Testament, there is The Booke of Psalmes (London: Company of Stationers, 1612), [10], 93, [5] pp., (incomplete).
