The first book to have been printed in Seattle. Proposal for a narrow-gauge railroad crossing the Cascades and connecting the cities of Seattle and Walla Walla. The map is titled, "Map of Washington Territory and Oregon with portions of adjoining Territories with the Route of the Seattle & Walla Walla Rail Road", 54.5x41.7 cm. Some copies apparently also contained a map of the city of Seattle, not present in this copy and not appearing to have ever been included. Howes calls for only a single map. Rare, no copies having appeared at auction since the Streeter sale in 1968.
