Description:
2 color prints titled "Hole in One" & "Disgusted Caddie" from the "Classic Golf" print series by Norman Orr of Scotland. Prints at 9"x6½," inside 13¼"x10¾" frames. Character images are fashioned after the 1744 group of Edinburgh gentlemen who got together at Leith to form the first authentic Golf Club. They called themselves 'The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers' or 'Gentlemen Golfers' and finally moved to Muirfield, East Lothian, in 1891. [c.1960]. (Sheet pasted to rear with light edge wear; top portion of "Disgusted Caddie" with two lines of cracking to glass, 1" thin yellow spot to right side). * Framed Jack Nicklaus photograph, 13½"x10½" color glossy with Nicklaus & another unidentified golfer on the golfing range with sand trap & roped off area with a few spectators in background. [c.1974]. * "Forgive me for what I'm about to do" color cartoon print, 10¾"x8¼", framed at 13"x10½". [c.1960's]. (Paper backing to rear with large tear & old tape stain, ¼" rub mark to upper portion of glass). * Golfing cartoon by Frank Reynolds, "You see, I'm a trifle gay! The shot really calls for something in between a No. 4 and a 3½ Iron." 7"x4¾," framed at 11¼"x9¼". [c.1930's]. (Paper backing to rear with a bit of tearing & slight paper loss, light soiling to exterior, print is fine). Together, 5 framed items.
