Description:
Chapbook. 8vo. Original pictorial saddle stitched white paper wrappers, front cover printed in black and red. First Edition. One of only 200 copies published, in November 1960 by E.V. Griffith.
Bukowski’s rare first book. Presumably, Jon Webb's copy (publisher of Loujon Press), beautifully inscribed and signed by Bukowski with poetry and a flower (in vase) drawing on the front inside cover and title page: “Friend, Friend, Friend, my first book, my first book, my first book” and then flower drawing. And on title: “and the Love gone and the Love remaining now – 9-18-63 Charles Bukowski.” Signed only three years after publication. Jon Webb's name not mentioned in the inscription, but this copy was offered in Water Row Books (of Sudbury, MA) catalogue #42, entry 138, and provides the fact that Jon Webb (of Loujon Press) was the original owner. From the Edwin Blair Collection. Dorbin A1; Krumhansl 3.
Condition:
