Comprises: Printed letter of appeal on the stationary of Timothy Leary Defense Fund under the names of Diane Di Prima and Allen Ginsberg. Not signed. April 9, 1966. * Manifesto in form of one page flier put out by Committee on Poetry in defense of LeRoi Jones who had been sentenced for 2.5 years for supposedly carrying a gun in Newark. The names of those backing the flier are a list of the major poets in U.S., including Ginsberg. Jan. 6, 1968. * Program leaflet for Giuseppe Ungaretti poetry reading, plus others, including Ginsberg, signed by him. 1969. * The Poetry Center newsletter: Allen Ginsberg and Louis Ginsberg, reading by father & son. Dec. 1970. * 1974 National Book Award for poetry (2 items): Printed acceptance speech, 4 pp. on folded brown paper; and official 2-page advance press release for the April 18th event (with “living president” later changed in published version to “lying president”). Together, 6 items.
Condition:
