viii, 135 pp. Notes and Introductory Chapter by Fred E. Pond ("Will Wildwood"). Illustrated from photographs, including the frontispiece portrait. 9x5¾, red cloth lettered in gilt. First Edition.
The author was a key figure in the sporting life in the latter part of the nineteeth century. Founder of Forest & Stream magazine, member of over 50 clubs (most of them sporting), author of many books, and contributor of many articles. This book gives a clear picture of sporting life during this time period and the people who, like Mr. Hallock, helped shape it. "The scarcest of Hallock's works" - Bruns H 33.
Condition:
Faint white staining to covers, spine ends and corners a bit worn, other light wear; occasional pencil marks; else very good.
