Illustrations printed from wood and linoleum blocks hand carved by Tom Killion “over the last decade” both black and white and color (including pictorial title page in full color with specially speckled front free endpaper /tissue-guard), 1 folding color plate. Also, colored wood and linoleum block print titled, numbered and signed in pencil by the artist “Snow Lake from Rock Island Pass, Yosemite,” 26/115, laid in. (Large oblong folio) 14¾x19½, hand-bound Japanese-style ¼ beige linen sewn with orange string and gray-tan paper over boards with colored wood and linoleum illustration on front cover, vignette on rear, housed in publisher’s full linen slipcase with paper spine and cover labels. No. 40 of 90 copies on hand-made Japanese paper at the Quail Press. First Edition.
Signed by the author and artist/bookmaker (Tom Killion). With prospectus broadsheet, laid in. * Also, includes an “uncorrected page proofs” copy, spiral-bound, plastic covers, Heyday Books (in conjunction with The Yosemite Assoc.), [2002]. With a typed letter signed by Marketing Director Maureen Watts to Oscar Villalon (San Francisco Chronicle Book Editor) on Heyday letterhead, dated Feb. 11, 2002. Letter was accompanied with this proof copy for Villalon’s review contribution. Obviously, only a small number of copies of this issue were produced. Together, 2 volumes.
