This narrative of the voyage of the Potomac is less well-known than that written by Jeremiah N. Reynolds published the same year. The Potomac visited Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, Sumatra, Batavia, the Philippines, Macao and Canton in China, Hawaii, Tahiti, Valparaiso, Callao and Lima, the Galapagos Islands, and the Falkland Islands.
