Sterling silver picture frame with raised Scottish thistle design around border, and two color enameled golfing scenes at each side at the base. With the hallmarks of Gorham on verso, and stamped sterling. 13x14 cm. (5x5¾").

A beautiful example of skilled silver work, created by the Rhode Island silver smiths, Gorham. The two bottom corners each feature a color enameled golfing scene. The illustration on the left is a man putting, and the one on the right is a woman chipping the ball. Bears the late 19th century version of the Gorham hallmark. This striking piece can be seen in Sprung, Decorative Golf Collectibles pp. 83.
