Letters from R.M. Hough on the way to and after his arrival at Dawson City, Yukon Territory, to his wife in Visalia, California. In letters spanning from February 1898 to May of 1899, Hough relates his journey to the Yukon, including a frightening account of the White Horse Rapids, and details his attempts at mining a claim in the Yukon Territory. Hough met with some success, removing along with his partners, some $9000 in gold before making plans to sell the claim and return to California.
