Color illustrations throughout by Dr. Seuss. 9x6, color pictorial boards, dust jacket, custom cloth case with gilt-lettered leather spine label. First Edition, First Printing.

In the very scarce early dust jacket. Matches all first printing points and, according to Younger & Hirsch this dust jacket is among the earliest issued, with the "50 Word Vocabulary" label pasted on, instead of printed directly on the jacket. Younger & Hirsch 27.

Condition:

Lightly chipped jacket with a few very short tears; light edge wear to volume, some light scratch marks on covers, few faint smudges on endpapers; very good overall.
