Burgess called this rare oddly-printed piece, “a rollicking, whooping gabble of ultra-nonsensical verbiage, eschewing seriousness in any form.” Writing a decade after publication, Burgess said, “There are too few copies extant” of this shaped magazine and that it was “hard to obtain copies to present, shamefacedly enough, to our friends.” See Burgess, Bayside Bohemia: Fin de siècle San Francisco & its Little Magazines (Book Club of California, 1954).
