Description:
Engraved stock certificate, approximately 13½x10". Framed beside 18 unredeemed interest coupons approximately 12¾x6½". Overall dimensions, including frame, 15½x19¾". The Geary Street Park and Ocean Railroad fourth cable traction company to open in San Francisco, beginning service in February, 1880. Much of the capital put up for its construction came from Charles F. Crocker, son of the Central Pacific magnate. The line survived the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906, resuming service a little over two months after the disaster. The Geary Street, Park & Ocean ceased operations in 1912 upon the expiration of its franchise.
