Anarcharsis was an early 6th Century B.C Sythian Prince / Explorer, included as one of the Ancient Seven Sages, who travelled from his homeland on the northern shores of the Black Sea to Athens. After extensive travels in the ancient World described in his work, he returned home where he was killed by the Syths because he wanted to introduce the cult of the "Great Mother of the Gods."
