Picasso etched this small cubist composition in 1914 or early 1915 and only a single copy of the first impression is known (in the Picasso Museum), in 1930 3 copies were printed for Picasso at Louis Fort's studio, the present impression is one of 490 printed for the album 'Du Cubisme' in 1947. There were also 20 proofs printed in a red-brown ink. Label from Ferdinand Roten Galleries, Baltimore, on rear of mount.
