"In the present work, Spurzheim concentrates on "only the derangements of the mental functions...The four plates depict side views of the heads and skulls of idiots as well as the plans for a hospital for the insane and one for individuals convalescing from mental illnesses." (Heirs of Hippocrates, 1316)

Condition:

Spine label largely lacking, cloth worn and with some soiling, early ownership signatures on endpaper and title page; foxing; very good.
