Carroll,” (a pseudonym of the 25-year-old assayer of the U.S. Mint, Conrad Wiegand, later the editor of several San Francisco newspapers) condemning Dr. W.A. Scott, pastor of Calvary Church, for his criticism of the activities of the Vigilance Committee.
