Gelatin silver print, approximately 7½x9½, mounted to stiff card.

Pinkerton is shown seated on his horse during the civil war, possibly at the battle of Antietam. Printed from the original Matthew Brady negative. Allan Pinkerton (1819-1884), is best known for founding the Pinkerton National Detective Agency.

Condition:

Faint evidence of prior framing; else very good.
