186 pp. With 4 lithographed maps, including: a 5¼x16" folding color map showing California from San Francisco to Yosemite and Mono Lake dated 1872 as frontispiece; large folding map of the Sierra Nevada adjacent to the Yosemite Valley in rear pocket; one other folding map and a single leaf map of the Hetch-Hetchy Valley 5¾x4, decorative blue-green cloth, stamped and lettered in gilt and black, all edges gilt. "New Edition, Revised and Corrected."

Later edition, without photographs, but with a slightly expanded text, of The Yosemite Book published in 1868. Two of the maps were revised for this edition, and the "Sketch of the Hetch-Hetchy Valley" was new. Currey & Kruska 61; Farquhar 7f.
